After speaking with many of you about your concerns and mine, these are some of the things that I will strive to address:
- Maintain the character and diversity of Mahwah's neighborhoods and our small-town feel.
- Keep taxes in check by scrutinizing the budget. Limit nonessential capital expenditures to those the budget can cover.
- Put important controversial issues on the ballot for the voters to decide.
- Resist any changes to the Master Plan and zoning ordinances that would change the look and feel of the town.
- Specifically address warehousing in the Master Plan so that it is not permitted in residential areas.
- Stop overdevelopment. Limit building in sensitive, congestion-prone areas
- Support small retail development at the old post office site.
- Post weekly status reports for all residents to view.
- Preserve and maintain our parks, open spaces, trails and woodlands.
- Protect our water supply; install purification systems to filter out contaminants and keep our water pure.
